Regulatory Compliance

The REACH Regulation regulates the manufacture, import, and use of chemicals in Europe, and it has an impact on businesses all over the world, whether directly or indirectly. Companies must analyze the hazards connected with the substances they manufacture and import into the EU market, as well as the dangers to human health and the environment. Non-EU producers are required by REACH to have an Only Representative (OR) in the EU for the registration process. The European Chemicals Agency must be notified of all “non-exempt” chemical substances manufactured in the EU or imported into the EU in quantities “larger than one tonne per annum” (ECHA). Colloids only uses raw materials that are either REACH-registered or REACH-exempt.
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), commonly known as Directive 2002/95/EC, is a European Union directive that prohibits the use of certain hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment. Lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, and four distinct phthalates are all prohibited under RoHS (DEHP, BBP, BBP, DIBP). These compounds damage landfills and are dangerous to the environment. They also pose a risk to human health because to the possibility of occupational exposure during manufacture and recycling. Colloids can give RoHS-compliant statements for supply chain communication.
